A Smooth-Running Septic System

Having your septic tank cleaned regularly is an investment that can save you money in the long run. Your septic tank needs tending to if:

• The air around smells like rotten egg gas
• The ground around the drain field is soggy
• There are a lot of trees, weeds and shrubs growing round the drain field
• The toilet drains are not clearing out fast enough
• Your septic tank has not been de-sludged in the past 3 – 5 years
  

Ensure Your Septic System is Not Faulty

While we provide extensive services to help keep your septic tank in good condition, we recommend you:

• Sketch a map that depicts the location of all the components in your septic tank
• Pump out the tank once every three to five years
• Practice water conservation
• Don’t flush down excess solids as it may clog your drain field
• Avoid planting trees or shrubs near the drain field because the roots can damage the plug pipes.
